       ALL PUNONG BARANGAYS AND ALL CONCERNED

SUBJECT: 2019-NOVEL CORONA VIRUS ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISEASE (COVID-19)

THIS ADVISORY IS BEING RELEASED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC.
Corona viruses are a large family of viruses causing respiratory illness ranging from the common cold to more serious infections such as MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV.
2019-nCoV is a new strain which has not been identified previously in humans.
Human-to-human transmission has been confirmed, largely in Wuhan City.

2019-nCoV transmission is either via respiratory droplets contact of fomites.
Any person who is close contact (w/in 3ft or 1m) with someone who is sneezing or coughing is at risk of being exposed to potentially infective respiratory droplets.

COMMON RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS INCLUDE:
1. FEVER
2. COUGH
3. SHORTNESS OF BREATH
4. BREATHING DIFFICULTIES

The public are advised for SELF-PROTECTION measures such as:
1. HAND HYGIENE
2. AVOIDING SYMPTOMATIC INDIVIDUALS
3. PROPER COUGHING AND SNEEZING ETIQUETTE
4. AVOIDING CONTACT WITH FARM ANIMALS
5. CONSUMING ENOUGH WATER PER DAY
6. COOKING FOOD THOROUGHLY
7. IMMEDIATE CONSTITUTION WHEN EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS ESPECIALLY WITH THOSE INDIVIDUALS WITH HISTORY OF TRAVEL IN CHINA

FACE MASK may be used if you are at high risk (immunocompromised) and If you are sick.

PROPER USAGE OF MASK is advised:
– COLOR-SIDE OUT
– REPLACE THE MASK WITH A NEW, CLEAN AND DRY ONE AFTER 4 – 8 HOURS OR AS SOON AS IT BECOMES DAMP.

*Please take note that WEARING MASK ALONE DOES NOT GRANTEE YOUR SAFETY FROM GETTING INFECTED.
