Arrival of 2,000 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccines at DSPH, Welcomed by Governor Douglas Cagas

The arrival of 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines at the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital (DSPH) this morning was welcomed by Governor Douglas Cagas. Sinovac is the name of the vaccine, and it is one of the 600,000 vials donated by China to the Philippines.

Present during the event were Vice Gov. Marc Cagas, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jonna Masongsong, (DSPH) Chief of Hospital Dr. Jaime Marcelo Razo, Committee on Health Chairman Second District Board Member Arvin Blanco Malaza, DILG Provincial Director Mika-Chan S. Magtulis, Provincial Administrator Atty. Herbert Gonzales, and others.

Governor Cagas said in his speech that the government was not only into plans but also taking immediate action. He also said that this is just the beginning of the vaccines that have arrived, and that many more are expected to arrive in the future.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Masongsong stated that the vaccination program at the Provincial Hospital will begin tomorrow, March 10, 2021, at 8 a.m., with the aim of vaccinating 454 employees of the public hospital within a week.

Among those who will receive the vaccines, according to Chief of Hospital Dr. Razo, are healthcare staff from private hospitals in the province.
