Davao del Sur — Governor Douglas Cagas, in his message last Monday (November 12), encouraged Capitol employees to find inspiration from World Boxing Champion and Fighting Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Known for his huge success in boxing and political career, Pacquiao shows no sign of bragging his achievements. Governor Cagas praised Pacquiao for being a true model of humility.
Recently, Pacquiao was invited to speak before the Oxford Union, the most prestigious student society in United Kingdom. He shared his life from rags to riches and how “University of Life” helped him to become strong and resilient. Pacquiao stated that he is a fighter, “not just because it is my profession. I was a fighter long before I first set foot in a boxing ring. All my life I have fought to live…”
Despite being a World champion, Pacman’s feet remain grounded. According to Governor Cagas, the Senator is “very humble” by the way he speaks to people around him. This is why he urged everybody to make Manny Pacquiao the best model of humility in our daily lives. Governor Cagas added, “We have two possible candidates for President from Mindanao: Either Manny Pacquiao or Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. Let us promote them.” (PIO|Marylie Noran)
