Davao del Sur – Some 35 participants from various offices of the provincial government and academe came in full force to join the whole day activity spearheaded by the Provincial Information Office and the Philippine Information Agency on March 26, 2018 being held at the Davao del Sur Coliseum.
Dubbed as Information and Media Literacy Seminar Workshop, participants were taught and trained to become effective communicators through News and Script Writing, Social Media and Cyber Crime Law, TV/ Radio Broadcasting and Libel Law, Copy Editing and Photo Journalism as a vital tool integrated in news report on captured pictures in varied events.
Governor Douglas Cagas underscored the importance of communication especially in the advent of social media. He lauded the Philippine Information Agency as the mouthpiece of the national government. “ In our times now, massive disinformation, lies, and false information have been spreading, out to destroy my reputation and administration, “ Governor Cagas said. “All these lies should be addressed and you as information advocates must defend your obligation, defend what is right, uphold morality in media, backlash any negative attempts and counter lies and deception on the ground, “ the governor stated.
