45 Million Housing Projects to be implemented by the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur
Yesterday, March 2, 2022, the National Housing Authority (NHA), led by NHA Regional Director Clemente Dayot, paid a visit to Governor Marc Cagas yesterday.
The purpose of the visit was to brief the governor on the NHA-funded housing projects in Matanao, Davao del Sur. The project costs more than 45 million pesos in total, with 158 units being completed at a cost of P285,500 per house.
Director Dayot reminded the governor that the project will be implemented by the provincial government, in accordance with the Mandanas-Garcia ruling, which includes some of the NHA’s responsibilities being handed to the local government. As a result, more than 45 million pesos will be downloaded to the capitol in order to start processing project implementation requirements.
Last 2019, the provincial government purchased three areas to be used as relocation sites for earthquake victims. The funds for the purchase of sites in Matanao, Magsaysay, and Hagonoy came from various government agencies of different LGUs.
