he Community Based Training of Food Processing under the Government Internship Program (GIP) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with 43 beneficiaries kicked off today, October 12, 2020, at Barangay Colorado, Digos City.

While the skills training on bookkeeping, basic wiring installation, welding, plumbing, and nail arts continued in different areas, hairdressing and masonry are scheduled to begin this week.

Based on the schedule released by the Office of Provincial PESO Manager Rolly Impas LptJd Mba, the skills training began last August 10, 2020, and will end in November. The schedule of the training was divided based on the number of trainers while following the minimum health standard.

GIP is part of the P50million assistance from DOLE allocated for the victims of a series of strong earthquakes that hit the province. This skills training was Gov. Douglas Cagas’ initiative in order to enhance the beneficiaries’ capabilities while being paid P396.00 a day for 15 days.
