DOLE Region XI, TESDA Davao del Sur, PGO-PESO Presented their Accomplishment Reports

Governor Douglas Cagas commended and thanked the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XI, led by Assistant Regional Director Atty. Randolf Pensoy, and TESDA Davao del Sur, led by Provincial Director Adonis Culas, for their significant contributions to the province, especially in the areas of skills training and employment programs.

 

During the Monday Convocation Program at the Davao del Sur Coliseum, Matti, Digos City, the aforementioned offices presented their accomplishment reports, including the Provincial PESO headed by PESO Manager Rolly Impas, JD, MBA, Lpt.

 

The governor expressed his hope that DOLE and TESDA will continue to support the Provincial Government in serving the people.

 

“I will always brag which the Department of Labor gave me the opportunity to perform. That we used the P50 million you downloaded in our province’s treasurer’s office, which was intended to be used for emergency employment (program) for earthquake victims, but instead of giving the money out directly, we launched a skills training program. And as you must have seen in the report, we were able to train at least 8,000 residents of Davao del Sur,” said Governor Cagas.

 

Governor Cagas formally accepted the DOLE’s award of a certificate of entitlement for the Provincial Government in the sum of P49,988,848.00 for the implementation of the Government Internship Program (GIP) signed by DOLE Provincial head Engineer Reynaldo Dennis Badilles. The provincial government only needs to wait for the funds to be downloaded to the provincial treasury before the Provincial PESO can begin implementing the program again.
