573 recipients of the DOLE Government Internship Program earned almost 9,000 pesos for their work last June

573 recipients of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Government Internship Program (GIP) implemented by the Davao del Sur Provincial Government earned their pay of almost 9,000 pesos for their work last June. The distribution was held right at the back of the Coliseum, where minimum public health protocols were enforced.

Former Governor Douglas Cagas’ idea was continued by his son, Governor Marc Cagas, according to Provincial PESO Manager Rolly Impas, MBA, JD, Lpt. This is the first batch of beneficiaries to be compensated for their efforts in June.

The beneficiaries were required to work for three(3) months at a pay of P396.00 per day under this program. They have also undergone skills training. It started in May and will end this July.

The second batch of distributions will take place tomorrow, Saturday, and the third batch will follow until all beneficiaries from Digos City and the nine municipalities receive their money.
