Soft Opening of Matanao Tourism, successfully held today at Sitio Talambato, Barangay Asbang

The scenic and beautiful places in Matanao, Davao del Sur, are now open for tourists after the Soft Opening of Matanao Tourism was successfully held today at Sitio Talambato in Barangay Asbang.

 

The Matanao Local Government, led by Mayor Vincent Fernandez, organized the grand event with the help of all elected officials in the municipality, including 33 barangays.

 

Provincial Governor Douglas Cagas and Vice Governor Marc Cagas were present at the historic gathering. Among those in attendance were Former Mayor Butch Fernandez, 2nd District Board Member Arvin “Jun Blanco” Malaza, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism XI Ms. Tanya Rabat Tan, and representatives from various government agencies such as the Philippine Information Agency (PIA XI), DPWH, NCIP, DENR, and prominent media personalities.

 

Asbang Barangay Captain Jerwin Salas, Captain Tommy Curog, Mayor Vincent Fernandez, and other speakers expressed their gratitude to Governor Douglas Cagas, Vice Governor Marc Cagas, and Congresswoman Mercedes Cagas, whom they said are responsible for Matanao’s continued growth, especially in the tourism sector.
