On behalf of RD Dr. Annable Yumang, Department Head of the Regulation Licensing and Enforcement Division Dr. Grace Amistoso of the Department of Health Davao Region, formally handed over a type 2 ambulance to the Davao del Sur Provincial Government, which was accepted by Governor Marc Cagas today, March 4, 2022.

Present during the activity were DOH Regional Civil Engineer Facility Enhancement Engr. Divina Sonido, AKBAYAN Representative Cong. Tom Villarin, Chief of Hospital Dr. Jaime Razo, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jonna Masongsong, Dr. Manny Gonzales, Matanao Mayor Vincent Fernandez, capitol employees and others.
According to Engr. Sonido, the ambulance is fully equipped with life-saving equipment, including a defibrillator, emergency medications, and other accessories worth more than 2 million pesos.

“I am very happy that, through DOH and through Senator Sonny Angara, efforts are being made to provide Davao del Sur with an ambulance. We are very grateful that it is not only DOH that is trying to make Davao del Sur healthy,” Dr. Amistoso said.

Governor Cagas thanked the Department of Health and Senator Angara for their efforts in securing funds for the ambulance, and informed the public that the senator provides financial support to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital every year.

“Thank you so much, DOH. This ambulance is like a running facility or part of our Provincial Hospital. It is a small, so-called mobile hospital. Thank you so much. I am very happy,” Governor Cagas stated.
