Guihing residents flocked to the DASUCECO Compound in Guihing, Hagonoy today (July 29) to avail free services of the medical mission and apply for the job fair conducted by the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur.
The Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital (DSPH) medical mission team, led by Dr. Elpidio Monarca and Richie Plaza, provided free medical consultation, medication, reading glasses, circumcision, tooth extraction, minor surgeries like cyst, wart, and mole removal, wound dressing, and COVID-19 vaccination to the beneficiaries who were residents of the area.
Following the comeback of the medical mission after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the team’s second stop is Barangay Guihing.
Licinia Jolipas, 62, was emotional by the genuine public service of the Cagases and expressed her gratitude for receiving a free checkup, eye test, reading glasses, the COVID-19 vaccine, and her grandson’s circumcision. She also mentioned that the late and former Governor Douglas Cagas had previously helped her husband when he was ill and they had approached him during a medical mission at that time.
On the other hand, the provincial government also organized a job fair on the same day and location through the Davao del Sur Public Employment Service Office, led by Provincial PESO Manager Rolly Impas, and in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Region XI and the District Tripartite Council of Davao Mill.
Local companies including Vicente T. Lao Construction, Davao Sugar Central Co., Inc., Pryce Gases, Inc., Gaisano Grand Mall Digos, Gaisano Mall of Digos, and SL Agritech Corporation were present to look for job seekers who met the requirements for the open positions they provide.
In addition, the Philippine Statistics Authority provided its services to anyone in need of a live birth certificate and other relevant documentation.
Along with these complimentary services, DOLE also provided haircuts, eye brow shaping, massages, and pedicures.
These activities were attended by Hagonoy Vice Mayor Jesus Jay Dureza, some municipal councilors, and barangay officials to show their support of the program of the provincial government through the initiative of the Cagas Administration.
